DALE E. MARTIN, M.D.
[ CV ]Dr. Martin is a physician who is a Board Certified Specialist in Dermatology. He is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair and nails. Dr. Martin's special areas of interest and expertise include:
- Medical and surgical treatment of skin cancer, melanoma, and benign growths, including Mohs surgery.
- Therapies for sun damaged skin and wrinkles including:
- Chemical peels of face, chest and hands
- Restylane and Collagen injections
- Botox
- Glycolic acid
- Fotofacial
- Injection sclerotherapy of large and small leg veins

Dr. Martin speaks at teaching conferences for physicians and enjoys lecturing to general audiences or special groups. He is chairman of the Skin Cancer Screening Committee for the American Cancer Society, and is active in skin cancer screenings throughout San Diego.
Dr. Martin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He completed his undergraduate and medical training at the University of California, San Diego. After his internship at Mercy Hospital, Dr. Martin was the recipient of the NIH Physician Scientist Award. With a joint appointment at the UCSD School of Medicine and Scripps Research Foundation, he spent three years investigating immunotherapeutic strategies for melanoma. The results of his research, reported in a dozen publications and at national meetings, will hopefully contribute to the cure for this deadly skin cancer.
During his subsequent dermatologic specialty training at UCSD Medical Center, Dr. Martin engaged in research in the mechanism of action of sclerosing agents for the treatment of leg veins. His work is published in the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology. Dr. Martin is actively involved in clinical research studies including new therapies for skin cancer, psoriasis, eczema, acne, and warts.
Dr. Martin is on staff at the Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.
Dr. Martin is very thorough. He recommends a complete skin examination during the initial office visit. He will give you frank advice about all of your dermatologic and cosmetic concerns.
